In this course, students will read sample essays, discuss various writing techniques, and craft their own application essay(s). For students who know where they will be applying to college, please bring school-specific applications to class. Undecided students may work on essay questions from the Common Application, which is used by more than 250 independent colleges and universities. Students who attend the course will also receive help throughout the fall application process. Additionally, while the primary goal of the class is to have a completed college application essay, students may work on scholarship application essays as well.
