Houses & Student Leadership

The House System

The House System serves as a platform for interscholastic competition and collaboration throughout the school year. At Holy Spirit Prep, students are placed in a House which they will call their own for the rest of their lives. The House System also provides the scaffolding for our Student Government, with 34 total leadership positions available to high school students. Friendly competitions occur regularly throughout the year, as all four houses compete for points with the ultimate goal of being crowned the “Winning House” at the end of the school year.

The Four Houses are named for four of the great Ecumenical Councils of the Church: Nicaea, Chalcedon, Lyons, and Trent. When the House systsem was first established at Holy Spirit Preparatory School, Nicaea and Trent were the only two houses. Before long, two new houses were established, with Chalcedon growing out of Trent and Lyons out of Nicaea. Today the four houses are a mainstay of student life at Holy Spirit, and a source of great fellowship and competition.

Head Boy

"I am honored to have been chosen as the Head Boy for the 2024 - 2025 school year. I have attended HSP since the sixth grade and enjoyed every second of it. I decided to run for the position of Head Boy to honor our school's motto, to serve and not to be served. I will continue to conduct myself in a way that exemplifies what it means to be a Holy Spirit Prep student. I am excited to be able to work so closely with my fellow leadership members to bring joy to our peers and strengthen our community."

Reagan Twomey

Head Girl

"I am so honored and blessed to have the opportunity to serve as Head Girl! Our school community is a wonderful place that has helped me to grow in so many ways, especially in my faith. I hope that through my role I can not only be a servant leader but also help other students to have the same impactful experience here that I have had at Holy Spirit. With the rest of the leadership council, and the Lord’s help, I am confident that we are going to have a great year!"
