At Holy Spirit Prep, we believe that cultivating a servant’s heart is an essential part of a classical education. That’s why we do our utmost to ensure our students have ample opportunities to serve others, whether they choose to complete service projects with an apostolate or volunteer in student leadership. During the last few weeks of every school year, elections are held to choose the rising seniors that will serve in student leadership in the coming school year. This month, we are proud to announce that Davis Braun and Alexia Riley will be next year’s Head Boy and Head Girl. We invite you to learn more about them and their previous involvement on campus, and what they aspire to accomplish as they serve fellow students next school year.
Introducing: Davis Braun
Since joining Holy Spirit Prep in 2017, Davis has shown himself to be a spiritual, academic, and compassionate student. Not only has he participated in house leadership for the last four years, but he also served as Head Altar Server and treasurer for the Cantius Society, in addition to being an active member of both St. Joseph’s Cohort and Delta Omega.
Davis is an accomplished varsity athlete in cross country and track, serving as co-captain for both, and helped to start the Diplomacy and Worthy Games club to promote school comradery. Outside of school, he is a Senior Patrol Leader for the Boy Scouts of America.
When asked about his plans for the next school year, Davis said:
“I am thrilled by the honor of being elected to the position of Head Boy. I have attended HSP since 6th grade, and I chose to run for the position because I felt that taking on the role would allow me to grow as a leader. Having been elected, I hope to serve our school community to the best of my ability. I will strive to be a good role model for fellow students as I work with student leadership to exemplify the virtues of faith, prudence, and magnanimity that have been instilled in me by the staff and teachers at HSP over the years.”
Introducing: Alexia Riley
Alexia has been a part of the Holy Spirit Prep family for over 15 years, having joined when she was in Pre-K 2. Her love for the school can be seen in all that she does to make it a warm and inviting place for students and staff alike. In addition to being a student ambassador, Alexia is the President of the National Honors Society and the newly formed Prayer Apostolate. She has been a leader in the house system throughout her high school career and has led retreats for lower school students.
In her spare time, Alexia plays on the varsity volleyball team, manages the soccer team, and is the co-president of the HSP Herald.
Alexia shared about her goals for the role:
“I am delighted and honored to serve as the Head Girl for Holy Spirit Preparatory School’s class of 2024! I have attended HSP since Pre-K, and have long aspired to become Head Girl. The virtuous, nurturing environment that HSP fosters has allowed me to grow socially, academically, and spiritually, and has provided me with opportunities to gain valuable leadership skills. As Head Girl, it will be my privilege to lead others by example, helping them succeed socially, academically, and most importantly, spiritually – by living out our school motto: ‘ministrare non ministrari.’ HSP has been blessed this year with a dedicated student leadership council, and together we will work to ensure the House system is run with enthusiasm and excellence!”
