HSPers Host Christmas Festival for Refugees

Posted: 12/19/2018

Mission Family traveled to Clarkston, Georgia this past Saturday to spread Christmas cheer to the refugee community. The HSP community joined with theirs to play carnival games, celebrate Mass outdoors, and sing Christmas carols.

Mission Family is an initiative of a number of HSP families who have met each month since the summer to prepare this event. They met monthly for fellowship, prayer, and formation, as well as to plan a family service project. Mission Family teamed up with the Missionaries of Charity in Clarkston to share food, fun, and faith with over 150 refugees from Burma, Afghanistan, Mexico, and several African countries.

Through bake sales and donation collections prior to the festival, Mission Family raised over $1,300. We also provided 75 Christmas gifts to their community, courtesy of HSP families.
