Harris Accepted into Harvard Diversity Project

Posted: 10/10/2018

We're super proud of 9th-grader Kaylin Harris, who was accepted into the Harvard Debate Council Diversity Project! Now she starts an intense 10-month training regimen culminating in a residency at Harvard in summer 2019.

Students in this program will be exposed to rigorous academic content in the subjects of political science, philosophy, sociology, rhetoric, and much more.

About the Harvard Debate Council Diversity Project
Harvard Debate Council Diversity Project (HDCDP) is an Atlanta-based program that provides Black youth access and exposure to accelerated academic training in critical thinking, communication, and civic engagement. HDCDP seeks to matriculate underrepresented students into the Harvard Debate Council's summer residency at Harvard University.

HDCDP seeks to develop the young social and political voice through three pillars:

  • Scholarship: An incubator for academic excellence.
  • Leadership: A launchpad for young leaders.
  • Culture: A hub for cultural pride.
