Cadet Sinks, '14, Sees First Ship Assignment

Posted: 6/20/2018

2013-14 Head Girl Aimee Sinks inspired us when she entered the United States Coast Guard Academy. This May, she graduated from the Academy with her degree in Marine Environmental Science.

Ensign Sinks now heads to the USCGC Resolute, a 210-foot cutter home ported in St. Petersburg, Florida, for her first assignment. According to Ensign Sinks, the Resolute's missions include drug and migrant interdiction and search-and-rescue. Aimee will serve as a Deck Watch Officer and Assistant Navigator, responsible for logs, navigation briefs, movement reports, and the bridge.

"I hope to attend Boarding Officer school in the near future and anticipate a career either afloat or in response ashore," Aimee reports.
