Posted: 5/16/2018

Our 2018-19 Head Boy and Girl

Congratulations to Holy Spirit Prep's 2018-19 Head Girl, Elizabeth Perez, and Head Boy, Conner McKittrick! The two rising seniors have been named as the head of the student body and the House system for the 2018-19 school year, and student ambassadors to the larger community.

Elizabeth and Conner were elected from an incredible and talented pool of rising seniors.

Elizabeth has attended Holy Spirit Prep since kindergarten. In that time, she has served as president of the Spanish club, and a member of iFaith, the ONE Apostolate, and Alpha Phi - clubs dedicated to service and faith. Elizabeth is also a member of the marine biology club. She is a varsity athlete in cross country, track and field, and soccer. Over the last two years, she has volunteered over 400 hours in Piedmont Hospital's surgical and neuroscience units. Elizabeth comes from a line of student leaders: she counts two past House Presidents (Chris '09 and Stephanie '16), a Head Boy (Alex '13), and Head Girl (Carolyn '11), among her siblings.

Since joining Holy Spirit Prep in second grade, Conner has helped HSP earn three state championships, two in chess and another in swimming. He is a member of Delta Omega and Milites Christi, two clubs devoted to service and faith. He was an instructor for Centro Catolico's Classics Club, a contributor to the school newspaper, and a competitor on the clay targets team. In addition to swimming, he is a varsity track athlete and a leader of the varsity football team.

The Head Boy and Girl are elected from a qualified pool of student candidates by the faculty. Eligibility for the positions include at least a 3.5 GPA, enrollment in five or more AP classes, continuous enrollment at HSP since 9th grade, demonstrated leadership and virtue, and the endorsement of at least four faculty, among other requirements.

Elections for the Upper School's 2018-19 House leadership, including House Presidents, will be held this Friday, May 4.
