Announcing our New Preschool Director

Posted: 1/3/2016

Dear Holy Spirit Prep family,

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of our own Faith Rummelsburg as our new Preschool Director, effective this coming summer.

Over the past few months, our search committee received applications and conducted interviews of highly qualified candidates. The committee unanimously recommended Faith for the position and is very excited to have Faith take the lead at the Preschool.

In 2014, Faith joined Holy Spirit Prep with her husband Steve, a theology teacher at the Upper School. From California originally, Faith has worked at the elementary level for over 20 years now, and her experience includes administrative responsibilities for training, supporting, and coaching teachers in curriculum development and guiding them in their overall professional development. Faith is fluent in Spanish and has experience with language acquisition and development in young students. Her knowledge of the Lower School, and the early elementary program in particular, will be a strong asset to our Preschool.

Faith is the mother of three daughters, two of whom are students at Holy Spirit Prep: Tomi (Class of 2020), Kaia (Class of 2018), and Kenya, who attends Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. Faith sees her 2nd grade classroom at the Lower School as an extended family and creates an environment that is nurturing, engaging and challenging. Our Lower School Principal, Peter Schultz, says Faith “is a highly qualified educator committed to excellence in the classroom. She loves each child as if he or she were her own and creates a loving learning environment. She is keenly interested in each child’s growth and educates the whole child in mind, body, and soul.”

Faith is very excited to take on this new role. “The Preschool Director position is a great responsibility, one that I hope to fulfill with honor and diligence aided by graces. It is my sincerest intention to foster a faith-filled and intellectually edifying experience for all children involved in the Preschool program. I bring many years of experience in coaching teachers and students alike in areas of academic and character development. I am most eager to put my experience to work in building up the pedagogical and methodological skills of our staff so that we may all serve our students and their families in a manner consistent with our school’s philosophy, values, and mission. I am thankful for the opportunity to implement all I have learned in my years working in education. I feel that under the tutelage of good men like Mr. Schultz and Mr. Pietrantonio, I will not only fulfill all expectations, but improve upon what my predecessor has built.”

Faith plans to attend several upcoming Preschool events, including this Wednesday's Family Fun Night.

Yours in service,

P.S. I want to thank our interview committee, which consisted of myself; Kristina Wilhelm, Director of Enrollment Management; Patricia Stanchak, Preschool teacher; Clara Olguin, Preschool teacher; Christy Maurer, Preschool parent; and Peter Schultz, our Lower School Principal and interim Preschool Director. Their understanding of the Preschool and their dedication to HSP was very evident and critical in selecting the right candidate for HSP.
