Middle Schoolers Host Food Drive

Posted: 12/20/2018

In an expression of the corporal works of mercy, sixth- and seventh-graders in the House of Nicaea hosted a food drive this December, collecting non-perishable items for donation to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

In addition to hundreds of pounds of foodstuffs, students committed to work days at the ACFB's food preparation facility. Together, they packaged and prepared over 14,000 meals to be delivered to hungry families in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia during the 2018 holiday season.

The Atlanta Community Food Bank works with more than 600 nonprofit partners—including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers—to distribute over 60 million meals to more than 755,000 people in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
